The young musicians Eli Fabrikant (Riga/Jerusalem, violin), Arnaud Duvoux (France, Clarinet), Mystery Man (Scotland, Accordion), Leon Behn (Berlin, Double Bass) and Max Horbank (Berlin, Percussion) began their musical journey in Berlin two and a half years ago.
The heart of the band beats Klezmer, while the rhythm is influenced by the various cultural backgrounds of its members. Their repertoire contains mostly original compositions with a touch of east-European folk music (Klezmer, Gypsy, Romanian, Bulgarian, Serbian and Turkish) exhibiting a wide musical spectrum. On stage the five band members burst with energy creating an intensive experience of music and dance.
The band has released two EPs ( 'Knoblauch Klezmer Band' (2012) and 'Fruit of Life' (2013). Beside regularly playing in concerts and parties in their home city of Berlin, the Knoblauchs have also toured in Europe, opening the Simcha Jewish culture Festival in Wrocław, Poland and playing in the TFF Rudolstadt Festival, among others.
